New Business
- Discussion about the $1000 grant from New England Grass Roots Organization that was awarded to the Commission:
- We have to create a "map" of Loudon Farms
- Currently there are 16 farms on the old map
- 19 Farms are listed in the Loudon Ledger
- We want to create a tri-fold "flyer"
- There should be a short description of each farm
- We should send a letter to each farm with a list of questions
- Farms may be able to provide a logo
We will request $25 from each farm to be listed. If 20 farms are listed then we will raise $500 to help with printing and distribution costs.
It was moved by Larry Moore and accepted by Carole Soule that we will hire Corey Szepan as the graphic designer, 848-4242 corey@coreyszepan.com who will do a "front cover". Approved by all.
Printing costs - Melissa to research:
- Approximately .40/page for color printing
- Approximately .10/page for B/W printing
- Paper - 40# weight was a sample we evaluated
Include:
- The Town Seal on the front
- Farm Name:
- Address
- Website
- Phone
- email
- 15 Word Description
- Logo as jpg or png file (check with Corey).
- QR Code for farms that provide them.
We should provide a graph about which products are available by each farm and indicate the hours or seasons the product is available or if it is available year round.
Also include a "map" that shows all the listed farms with driving routes.
Third week in March should be the deadline.
- The flyer can be given to realtors to give to new residents
- Carole will try to get the farm questions in the December Ledger - the deadline is this Friday. The wording for the Ledger is: "If you are a farm, the Loudon Agriculture Commission is compiling a map and agricultural tour brochure. For more information, contact: ... who? You can be listed for just $25". Make checks payable to "The Town of Loudon", memo: Loudon Agricultural Commission".
Larry Moore made a motion to adjorn and Bruce Dawson seconded at 8:55pm.
